Meet RIM’s New Executives (COO and CMO)
Everybody knows that RIM, a one-time Canadian mobile phone goliath and pioneer in the cellular industry, has been facing some troubles in recent times. Today, Research In Motion (RIM) has publicly announced the addition of two new executives to the company, filling the positions of COO and CMO. This news comes to us just one week after RIM held their Blackberry World Developer Conference on May 1st.
The company’s new Chief Operating Officer goes by the name of Kristian Tear, who joins RIM from Sony Mobile Communications (Sony Ericsson Team) where he served as executive vice- president.
Frank Boulben will now serve as RIM’s Chief Marketing Officer. He is the former executive vice-president of strategy, marketing and sales for LightSquared Inc. You might be asking yourself – who is LightSquared? The good part is that they are a wireless- network company. The bad part is that the company faces a potential bankruptcy.
These new additions to RIM could prove to be very revolutionary additions to the company, but the fact that Boulben, the new CMO, is bouncing from struggling tech firm to struggling tech firm is a bit unsettling to many.
How do you feel?
We’ll see how this one play’s out with time.
